The Alcohol & Other Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) is designed to provide you with a space that is safe and confidential to explore your relationship with drugs or alcohol.

Our services are free and we can discuss your own drinking or drug use, your concern about a friend's misuse, or drug or alcohol use in your family. We have skilled clinicians and a supportive community to help you! Schedule an appointment to learn more.

Mission
The Rutgers University-Newark Campus Awareness Response and Education (CARE) Team is committed to promoting campus safety and wellness. Through collaborative efforts we identify, assess and respond to student concerns on campus; assisting students who may be in crisis. The CARE Team develops a support plan for students to help them deal effectively with personal situations that might impact their academic performance.

Reasons to Report
Student behavior that is concerning to the student involved or to other members of the Rutgers community should be reported to the CARE Team. This behavior may include:

- Sending verbal or written threats to another student, staff, or faculty member

- Writing about or verbally expressing suicidal ideation

- Exhibiting declining academic performance and/or has excessive absences

- Expressing feelings of hopelessness or helplessness

- Displaying physical signs of fatigue, disorientation, anxiety, stress, failing to eat, or poor hygiene

- Messages on social media with concerning language

- Engaging in other actions which cause an alarm or call into question the safety of the student or other members of the community

- One of the choices you’ll need to make in your career is deciding where you want to work. We have community pages focused on industries can help you explore different types of organizations, job roles, and other information that can help you identify what matches with your personal and professional goals.

- Your personal identities can have an impact on your career, depending on how important those identities are to you and how you want them to reflect in your professional life. The community pages focused on specific populations/identities can help you reflect on your own self, or learn about others.

You are not alone. If you need a confidential space to speak to a counselor, reach out to the Counseling Center today. Students visit us for so many reasons including feelings stressed, alone, sad, struggling with relationships, dealing with trauma, or feeling like you don’t belong. Disclaimer: You understand that you are agreeing to receive notifications from the RU-N app to alert you to events on Rutgers University—Newark campus where there is excess food that is being donated to the Rutgers University—Newark, pantry+, and through the Pantry being donated to Rutgers University—Newark students.  (pantryRUN and Rutgers University—Newark shall be referred to as “Rutgers”).  You are accepting such food donations as a Rutgers University student and understand and assume the risks associated with the donated food as a condition to receiving the donated food as described below.  Rutgers will use good faith efforts to ensure that all donated food appears to be fit for human consumption at the time it is donated pursuant to the New Jersey Good Samaritan Act.  Donations may contain food with peanuts, tree nuts, soy, milk, eggs, and wheat, and Rutgers cannot guarantee that any of the food donations are safe to consume for students with peanut, tree nut, soy, milk, egg, or wheat allergies.  Additionally, consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have certain medical conditions.  Rutgers recommends that you seal the donated food in a covered container, refrigerate the food within two hours, and heat the food to at least 165 degrees before eating.  Rutgers will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to the donated food consumed or items you may encounter while consuming the donated food.  Students with food allergies are encouraged to contact their health provider.

The RU-N IT Service Center offers a range of computing support to faculty, staff, and students. Whether it's connecting to the wireless network, activating NetIDs, resetting passwords, setting up email accounts, submitting assignments through Canvas, providing residential network support, or finding one of our Technology Resource Centers to quietly work and print your work, we can assist you. Rutgers affiliates are encouraged to contact the Service Center for all your computing needs. Our student workers are cross-trained by full-time staff to troubleshoot a variety of network-related issues.

The RU-N IT Service Center's mission is to effectively and efficiently provide information technology support services to the Rutgers community. Support is available via phone, email, in person, or via the chat on our website during business hours. Please don't hesitate to reach out for assistance.

The Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance (VPVA) focuses on educating our campus community about interpersonal violence (sexual violence, partner violence, stalking, and harassment), so that we can effectively prevent violence in all its forms.

We also serve to support and empower those on our campus who have been affected by interpersonal violence, connect them with resources, and provide trauma-informed advocacy and services.
